I come from a proud family that has been involved in public service and education for as long as I can remember. I want to work for and with you. We need to create more living wage jobs, improve our schools, and make public safety a top priority. With nearly a decade of community and  education engagement experience,  I know what it takes to find solutions, navigate across complicated governmental agencies, and GET THINGS DONE for District 15.

WHAT KUMAR STANDS FOR

EDUCATION

Educating our youth and adult learners is the responsibility of the entire community. I believe in equity in education for all students regardless of race, gender identity, religion, socio-economic status or any other demographic respects. There simply is not enough government funding available to meet the needs of every student.  I will work to build partnerships between businesses, community organizations, and our schools. Developing these partnerships will provide our students with the resources that they need to thrive in our current financial climate and allow every student an equitable opportunity to develop into a caring, thoughtful, and positive contributing members of our worldwide society.

HOUSING

I believe in equity in housing for all residents regardless of race, gender identity, religion, socio-economic status or any other demographic respects.  All people have the right to be respected and be treated fairly with dignity in all housing needs.  Every family has the right to have quality housing and as a community it is our duty to care for all of us especially the poor, elderly, children, and the homeless.  In District 15, I will work to rehabilitate outdated and dilapidated housing. We will hold landlords accountable for the conditions of their housing units.  I will also work with local programs to either sell, tear down, or renovate vacant homes in our area.

HEALTHCARE

I believe in equity in healthcare for all residents regardless of race, gender identity, religion, socio-economic status or any other demographic respects.  All people have the right to be respected and be treated fairly with dignity in all healthcare needs. Healthcare is not a privilege but a basic need that should be provided for every individual. We should promote healthy living values in our community. In our community, we will invite healthcare providers to set up health fairs to provide information and basic health screenings in our community. A healthy community is a happy community.
